From the producers: "In the early 1800s, Josiah Bent from Massachusetts decided to make a lighter and thinner version of Hardtack, a soldiers and seafarers staple. Mr. Bent rolled out sheets of dough, baked and hand “cracked” them. Whitney has been rolling out crackers this original way in her Castleton Vermont kitchen for family and friends for years.
In 2013, VFCC acquired Castleton Crackers. Our artisanal, beautiful, yet rustic-looking crackers are still made from pure, all-natural ingredients."
