Cheesemonger

We are looking for a full-time cheesemonger with supervisory experience to work closely with existing staff to help us provide delicious cheese and exceptional service to our customers. 

As a Formaggio Kitchen cheesemonger, you not only have access to 200-300 different types of cheeses (many of them exclusive to us in the US), you also have access to hundreds of other specialty products throughout the shop that have been hand selected by our lead buyers from across the globe. With nearly 50 years of experience in the industry, Formaggio Kitchen has developed close relationships with producers domestically and abroad which allows our cheesemongers unmatched access to their expertise. As a company we encourage staff to take ownership of ideas and initiatives, and we are committed to providing support and resources to allow our staff to achieve their goals. This has included farm visits, access to in-depth product training with producers, development of new programs and marketing initiatives within the store (to name a few). 

A full-time cheesemonger's work schedule requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends. • Excellent collaborative skills to work in partnership with department leads, store management and customers
• At least one year in a supervisory or managerial capacity in a specialty food retail or wholesale environment preferred
• Experience with retail POS systems / computers

COMPENSATION: $18-$24 hour, depending on experience

Front of House Supervisor

Our Front of House team of cashiers provides knowledgeable and efficient service to our customers, every day! We offer a dynamic work environment that both challenges and rewards those who have the necessary skills and passion to make the team. We strive to hire people with a love of food, old-world work ethic, capacity for teamwork and a drive to provide exceptional customer service.

As a Supervisor you will be required to:

• Open the shop in the morning and/or close the shop at night
• Handle customer complaints, returns, requests
• Recognize what needs to be done/stocked in each part of the store. Compile a list of tasks and delegate
• Understand and enforce store policies
• Be able to react calmly in emergency situations

We have both part-time and full-time positions available, with a preference for weekend and closing availability. Applicants must be friendly and hard-working.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of retail or restaurant experience
• Extensive food knowledge and a thirst for learning
• Exemplary customer service

Compensation: This position is hourly, $20-$21/hour, commensurate with experience
