Made by hand in Maison de Florentins' workshop near Nantes, France. This traditional florentine recipe is heavy on almonds, butter, and cream. Candied lemon peel is added to the mixture and then the cookies are then coated in dark chocolate.
We love the dance of flavors and textures: the acidity of the candied lemon peel with the bitterness of the 63% cocoa dark chocolate, the crunch of the flaked almonds, and the touch of honey for sweetness to round it out. Delicious with tea or coffee.
INGREDIENTS: 24% dark chocolate (63%), sugar, 16% almonds, 8% currants, 7% candied lemon peel, butter, cream, candied orange peel, 5% honey
