French Mustard

This quarter we’re exploring the tradition of mustard making in France.

Fagaldia Espelette Mustard

Hailing from the Basque region of France, this mustard is blended with the iconic Piment d'Espelette chili pepper from the region, giving it a slight spiciness and fruitiness.

Ferme Fagaldia is a company known for its high-quality Espelette pepper products. We stock everything from the ground pepper to pepper purée from them.

Fallot Burgundy Mustard

This mustard was created to link Fallot directly to their Burgundian roots by using strictly mustard seeds grown in Burgundy blended with white Burgundy wine. We find that this mustard offers a bit more sweetness than their dijon mustard.

Located in the Burgundian, town of Beaune, the Fallot Company strives to maintain both quality and tradition in the world of mustard making. They use traditional techniques such as using stone mills to grind the grains which helps to preserve the natural flavors of the mustard.

Rue Traversette Pastis Mustard

This uniquely French mustard has the addition of Pastis, an anise-flavored spirit and apéritif, giving it notes of licorice. Try it on chicken or fish.

Rue Traversette is based in Saint-Pons-de-Mauchiens, a small village located between Béziers and Montpellier in France. They take locally grown produce and transform it into incredible preserves like spreads and salad dressings. Their products are exclusive to Formaggio Kitchen in the United States.

Amora Dijon Mustard

Amora Dijon mustard (aka fine et forte) can be found in most French kitchens, for good reason. This French staple is extremely versatile: Just at home on a charcuterie board as it is in a vinaigrette.

Amora mustards have belonged in French cooking since the 1930s. Today Amora is the French condiment leader.

FAQs

The membership is $60 per quarter. You can purchase a recurring membership where you will be billed quarterly or pre-pay 1 year which will not renew.

Making changes to your subscription is easy. Just log on to your Formaggio Kitchen account and hit “Manage Subscriptions.” There you will find options to change your delivery address, skip a month, cancel your subscription, and/or update your billing information.

We ship out the quarterly club packages the 2nd Wednesday of the first month of each quarter. While we can’t accommodate a custom ship date, you can skip a shipment by logging into your Formaggio Kitchen account.

Our quarterly club packages ship the 2nd Wednesday of each January, April, July, and October. If you purchase mid-quarter your first shipment will be shipped the following quarter.

Your shipment will arrive the 2nd full week of the 1st month of each quarter.

While we can’t customize what comes in the quarterly selection, as a member you can add whatever products you’d like to take advantage of the free shipping that comes with your membership. Purchase additional items through the club portal and we’ll consolidate it all into one box to be shipped the first full week of the month.

Yes. If you don’t want all your items to be consolidated into one shipment you’ll need to place a separate order. Please note that in order to take advantage of your free shipping as a member all items must be consolidated into the monthly club shipment.

Yes, you can skip a package and/or change your shipping address by logging into your Formaggio Kitchen account.

Mustards have a long shelf life unopened. Once opened, we recommend storing them in the fridge and enjoying within 6 months.

If you’re using our prepaid option you can apply a gift card to your purchase. However, unfortunately, we can’t take gift card payments for our quarterly recurring memberships just yet.

Orders must be placed the Sunday before the 2nd full week of the 1st month of each quarter in order to be added to your shipment.

Yes! You can gift a recurring subscription or pre-pay for a year.
