Notes

To host a proper Raclette party you really need a special machine or grill. If you’re local, you can rent an electric machine from us that can melt a half or quarter wheel at a time, or, you can purchase your own. For the average cheese lover, we recommend purchasing a ‘Partyclette’ (which we sell) which is powered by tea candles and melts slices (we can slice Raclette for you at our cheese counter upon request). There are other options as well like Raclette grills or in a pinch you can use a non-stick skillet on the stovetop, a sheet pan and the broiler function on your oven, or simply slice the cheese thinly with a knife, drape it over cooked potatoes or bread, and broil it. 

Ingredients

Raclette cheese (we recommend purchasing enough for 1/2lb per person) 

Boiled fingerling potatoes 

Cornichons 

Charcuterie of your choice (cured meat like salami, prosciutto, etc)

Any other accompaniments (mustard, pickled onions, bread, etc) 

Instructions

  1. Preheat your machine, oven, or stove. 
  2. Place the cheese under the heating element or on the pan to begin to melt it. 
  3. Once the cheese is bubbling and starting to brown, scrape it (using a metal or wooden spatula) onto your boiled potatoes, vegetables, etc. 
  4. Repeat and enjoy!
