Each knife in the Saladini cheese collection was designed with a specific cheese style in mind, and without excessive design flourishes. This knife is designed to easily cut through firm to hard cheeses such as Calcagno or Parmigiano Reggiano. The knife is forged using AISI 420 stainless steel and the handle is made from beautiful ox horn, buffalo horn, or olive wood. The knife is just over 9 1/2 inches long.
Ox horn is a natural product and varies in color from knife to knife. Some horn can be very light and creamy in color with little variegation to darker caramel and coffee colors with lots of variegation.
Generally, buffalo horn handles are solid black, but some will have some fine white coloration as well
