Description
Sea Buckthorn is a cherished Eurasian fruit, most famously from Siberia, with flavors reminiscent of green apple, pineapple, and passion fruit. Despite their exhiliratingly tart and tropically fruited flavor profile, they are a challenge to harvest - in between every berry is a 3 inch needle-sharp thorn.
To allow the wild fruit flavors to remain in focus, only organic cane sugar, lemon juice and pectin are added when making the preserves. With juicy acidity balanced by an earthy aroma, this preserve with a puree-like texture pairs perfectly with the savoriness of sheep‚ milk cheeses and roasted pork, or simply spread it on toast with butter.
