Formaggio Kitchen has been an institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts for over 40 years –“a gourmand’s paradise” doubling as a neighborhood grocer. Nationally, we are best known for our cheese selection, which includes many exclusive items imported directly from farms in Europe. Full-time Baker
Responsibilities include:
- Completing bake-off including making breads, doughs, baking croissants and finishing cakes
- Producing our bakery staples such as bread pudding, seasonal crisps, cookies, brownies, granola, and more.
- Collaborating with our head baker with recipe testing and ideas
- Assisting in putting away deliveries
- Helping to maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
- Candidates must have at least one year of high production experience and be able to work independently
- Proficiency with bake-offs, doughs, and finishing products
- Open availability, including weekends and a commitment to a busy holiday production schedule
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude are a must
- This is a very physically demanding position. Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
COMPENSATION: This position is hourly, commensurate with experience, $18.00 - $22.00/hr
Part-time Delivery Driver
Regular availability is required. Schedules are delivered via OptimoRoute driver scheduling app. Tasks including loading and unloading, liaising with customers and other staff, following traffic laws, delivering items in a timely manner, and communicating with our dispatch team for all issues and delays.
Knowledge of local Cambridge and Boston areas is preferred. The ability to drive safely and respectfully in varied weather and traffic conditions are critical aspects of consideration for this position. Also important are strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of our team. We expect that our driver represents our company with the highest level of customer service and decorum.
Requirements:
- Driver’s license and comfort driving a company vehicle in a professional capacity
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to push carts up to 100 pounds
- Ability to use stairs while lifting
- Ability to use carts, pallet jacks, forklift, etc. to move inventory preferred
Full-Time Cheesemonger
As a cheesemonger, you not only have access to 200-300 different types of cheeses (many of them exclusive to us in the US), you also have access to hundreds of other specialty products that have been hand selected by our lead buyers from across the globe. Catering Manager
Are you an experienced kitchen leader looking for daytime hours? Join Formaggio Kitchen's catering team at our Kendall Square location! Our catering team produces beautifully arranged platters and food made from our internationally-sourced specialty ingredients, and locally sourced produce and meats. From bountiful cheese platters to hors d’oeuvres, to baked lasagna and desserts, we aim to provide our customers with an exceptional culinary experience!
Daily tasks will include all aspects of catering operations including production, ingredient and supply stock management, and running the kitchen in accordance with all health, safety and food handling regulations. This position works closely with the Catering Administrator, who will assist the Catering Manager with customer service and order processing, planning and developing menus to increase sales, strategizing and executing holiday menus, maintaining retail product inventory, and accommodating requests for special diets and nutritional needs.
The most important requirements for success in this role are:
- Demonstrated culinary skills with a minimum of 2 years experience in the field
- Strong sense of urgency and organization
- Capacity to effectively manage the catering team
- Comfort using various platforms for receiving orders, organizing deliveries, and Google Suite for company-wide communication
