Formaggio Kitchen Coffee Club

Change Up Your Morning Cup Each Month!

Our coffee buyer's goal is to seek out the finest roasters in the United States and Europe. This means they prioritize working with roasters who operate at a small-scale and focus on single-origin coffee. Single-origin coffee refers to coffee beans sourced from a single, specific geographic origin, like a particular farm, region, or even a specific lot on a farm. This thoughtful approach to sourcing is important because it is highly traceable, allowing both us and our customers to know exactly where our coffee is coming from. Also, single-origin beans tend to have distinct flavor profiles that are influenced by factors like the coffee varietal, growing altitude, climate, soil, and processing methods specific to that origin. All that being said, we still love and appreciate blends as well!

By joining our Coffee Club, you'll get to experience a bit of both—perfect for the connoisseur looking to change up their morning cup each month.

Single Estate

This month we're highlighting coffee beans that are sourced from a single farm or mill. A true taste of place!

Broadsheet Baroida Papua New Guinea

This offering is from a town in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea and is produced at the Colbran family's processing mill. It has a round body and warm flavors of Meyer lemon, black tea, and caramel. Varietals used: Arusha, Bourbon, Mundo Novo, and Typica. Washed processed.

Broadsheet Coffee Roasters was founded in 2017 as Cambridge, Massachusetts’s first specialty coffee roaster. Founder Aaron MacDougall and team source exceptional coffees from conscientious producers and roasts them on a Loring roaster to accentuate sweetness, balance and ease of brewing for its Harvard‑Yard‑adjacent café.

Gracenote Jose Selver Barrera Honduras

Jose Selver Barrera, known as Selver in his community, learned about growing coffee from a young age by his father José Tobías Barrera. At sixteen, he had saved enough to buy some land already planted with Parainema and Obata varieties; a few years later, his father gave him an additional 4 hectares. Today, Selver and his wife Yamileth live with their four children on 7 hectares, 5 of which are planted with coffee. They manage their farm using sustainable, organic methods, with the goal of acquiring more land and planting more coffee. This roast has fruity notes of green grapes, dried pineapple, orange jam, and apricot. Varietals: IHCAFE 90, lempria, obata, and parinma. Washed processed.

Gracenote Coffee, a Boston-based roaster, was founded on the idea that specialty coffee should be available and enjoyable for everyone. They achieve this goal by sourcing the best coffees available and pairing them with the best roasting practices. Their decade-plus of roasting experience allows them to ensure that they get the most of what each unique lot of coffee beans presents. This means a fuller roast profile than is often found in the specialty coffee world, without sacrificing any of the delicate flavors and nuance such high quality beans have to offer.
