Description
Reine-Claude, also known as the greengage plum, is a French delicacy known for its elegant, honeyed sweetness and rich plum flavor. This plum variety is named after Queen Claude, the wife of Francis I, who ruled France in the 16th century.
This jam from our friends Sylvie and Pascal Raunicher is made with minimal sugar to highlight the prized fruit's distinctive flavor.
These are organic small-batch handmade preserves made by Sylvie and Pascal Raunicher at La Ferme de Mazairas in the small town of St. Sylvestre in the region of Ardèche. Their tiny farm specializes in organic fruit, using unusual varieties with tons of fresh flavor. Their jams have less sugar and less pectin than other jams and as a result their texture is more suited to being scooped with a spoon than spread with a knife.
