Description
Panforte delle Dame (roughly translated as panforte of the ladies) is a deep, dense little cake of dried fruits and nuts including candied melon, candied orange, peeled toasted almonds and hazelnuts, bitter cocoa, spices, honey, Tipo "0" flour and dark chocolate. Most traditional panforte will be the same base (more of less), but Sinatti's panforte delle Dame has the especially decadent addition of a thick coating of chocolate. The flavors of the fruit, nuts and chocolate marry beautifully and pair particularly well with a glass of sweet wine or a cup of strong coffee.
