We thought we knew Mostarda di Cremona. We would regularly have it as a delicious sweet and spicy complement to our cheeses. However, walking the streets of Cremona, we were amazed at the selection of this condiment in the local shops. Glass chalice after glass chalice was filled with individual candied whole fruits and the shop-keepers were dishing them out to the local ladies by the spoonful!
Fieschi has bottled this wonder for us - whole fruits and all! Made with whole peaches, pears, apricots, figs, plums, pineapple pieces and cherries soaked in syrup with just a touch of mustard oil. It has a sweet but complex taste that perfectly suits roast meats or rich cheeses. A Formaggio exclusive.
