Saladini Mezzaluna - Buffalo Horn
The Saladini mezzaluna (translates to half-moon) might take some getting used to. It is the most striking utensil in our kitchen, and it was perhaps a bit intimidating when we first started using it. However, very soon after putting it to use and mastering our mincing technique, we found that this beautiful knife is just as much a well-designed tool as it is an art piece. The perfect tool for mincing garlic, herbs and vegetables. The handle is made of beautiful Italian water buffalo horn.
Buffalo horn is a natural material and can vary in color from knife to knife. Generally, buffalo horn handles are solid black, but some will have some fine white coloration as well.
