Hu Kwa Lapsang Souchong Tea - 1 lb decorative tin

Country of Origin: Taiwan

This gorgeous decorative tin holds 1 pound loose leaf Hu Kwa tea from the island of Formosa (Taiwan) that has been delicately smoked over pine fires. Distinctive with its smoky flavor and aroma, it produces a deep red liquor and mellow cup when brewed. Hu-Kwa tea is recognized around the world as the benchmark for Chinese Lapsang Souchong tea.

The tea takes its name from a famous Cantonese merchant named Houqua who became a symbol of integrity and quality in 19th century trade between America and the Orient.

In order to enjoy the unique flavor of Hu-Kwa we recommend allowing the tea to steep for five and one-half minutes. Stir, and let the tea settle for about one-half minute. Then decant. Hu-Kwa Tea is best appreciated when drunk on its own - milk or too much sugar compromises its delicate flavor.
