Produced by family Deerin in the Flanders region of Belgium close to the border with The Netherlands. Using the milk of their own 100 or so Friesian-Holstein cows, they follow a traditional Dutch recipe for farmer's cheese (Boerenkaas). This 'alt' Boerenkaas is aged for more than 2 years a rare find!
The cheese has a very dense texture with a variety of flavor notes including pineapple, caramel and herbs.
