We love to welcome producers both local and international as well as winemakers and brewers to sample their products for our customers. Check our listings for weekend producer tastings.

Organic & Biodynamic Wine Tasting with Mise Imports – Friday, June 2nd, 5-7pm

Stop in on Friday evening, June 2nd for a sampling of three summery natural wines poured by our friend, importer David Mitchell of Mise Wine Imports. Free to the public, 21 and over. 

Dog Days of Summer Organic Wine Tasting – Friday, July 21st, 5-7pm

Sample a few of our favorite organic and biodynamic wines on your way out of town for the weekend. Free to the public, 21 and over, only. 

Hot Weather Wines with Importer James Mucci – Friday, August 11th, 5-7pm

Join us for a sampling of three of our favorite summertime favorites from sunny Italy. Poured by James Mucci of Mucci Imports. Free to the public, 21 and over, only. 

Summertime Rose Wine Tasting – Friday, August 18th, 5-7pm

Think pink! Join us on this summery Friday evening to sample a host of our favorite rose wines poured by Jonathan of Ruby Wine Co. Free to the public, 21 and over. 

Wine & Cheese in Literature Class with Julie & Ross – Sunday, July 9th, 7-9pm

Join Julie and Ross (wine and cheese buyers) for tasty tour of cheeses and wines featured in classic literature. Ross and Julie will be showing off favorite flavors and reading from passages by their favorite authors including  Dickens, Thackery, Hemingway, and P.G. Wodehouse.

Tickets to this class will be available soon on Eventbrite. Class takes place at our South End location and is standing room only, $65 per person.

Honey & Cheese Class with Marianne – Sunday, July 23rd, 7-9pm

Marianne, our honey buyer and resident bee expert, will walk you through the process of honey making and show samples of 6 different honeys paired with some of her favorite cheeses. Marianne is in charge of our store’s local bee hive and also travels regularly to Uganda to participate in community beekeeping projects. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to taste and learn everything you ever wanted to know about honey and taste some great cheeses and wines too!

On The Edge Knife Sharpening Drop-Off – Monday, May 15th, 3pm

Need your kitchen knives sharpened? Drop them off any time before 3pm on Monday, May 15th. Patti from On The Edge will pick them up and return them to our shop for you to pick up anytime after we open on Tuesday, May 16th.

Rates are as follows:

  • $10 for knives with blades under 6″
  • $15 for knives with blades 6″ or longer

*Cash only, please provide cash with knives at drop off

SOUTH END SPRING STROLL – Friday, May 12th, 4-9pm

Get out and about in the neighborhood for the first annual South End Spring Stroll. Restaurants and shops all over the South End will be offering specials to customers.

We will be featuring an assortment of springtime Italian wines for sampling, poured by James Mucci or Mucci Imports, all available at a 10% discount on one bottle.

Stop in and see us on your way around the ‘hood!

Cheese 101 – May 2017 – Sunday, May 21st, 7pm

Join us for our most popular class! Increase your knowledge of our favorite topic with a cheese tasting guided by one of our experienced cheesemongers. We will discuss the history and process of cheese making and the ways in which our favorite modern-day cheese makers (many of whom we have visited) are embracing artisan traditions. Learn the basics of tasting and building your own cheese plate, plus sample a few wines and beers for good measure. The evening concludes with a rare treat – 10% off any goods you wish to purchase!

Chocolate Therapy Tasting – Friday, May 12th, 4-6 pm

Based in Framingham, MA,  Chocolate Therapy owners David and Pam Griffin got into the chocolate game to create unique treats using therapeutic ingredients. Come sample a few (or all) of the delicious flavors in their Mother’s Day gift-worthy  chocolates! Free to the public. 

Lark Cookie Tasting – Sunday, May 7th, 12-3 pm

Come sample delicious “adult” cookies from Lark Fine Foods. Bold, original flavors in perfectly-bite sized cookies! Free to the public. 

Italian Wine Tasting with Importer James Mucci – Friday, May 12th, 5-7 pm

Wine importer James Mucci will sample some delicious, rare and unusual Italian wines, perfect for Mother’s Day gifting or sipping. Free to the public, 21 and over.

Springtime Organic Wine Tasting with David from Mise Imports – Friday, May 19th, 5-7pm

Join us for a sampling of tasty wines with our friend David Mitchell, owner of Mise Wine Imports. David will be pouring organic & biodynamic spring favorites from France and Italy. Free to the public, 21 and over only.
