Lo Brusc Châtaignier - 500g

Details Arrow down

This chestnut honey has amazing depth of flavor that lingers on the palate long after your first taste. It may be a surprise for some who haven't had real chestnut honey before. This has a crystallized texture and a dark amber color. The aroma is deeply earthy with some woodsiness and background floral notes. The flavor follows naturally from the aroma with a rich caramelized bitter sweetness.

Lo Brusc

Several years ago, a distinguished gentleman brought us a jar of honey from his recent trip to Provence. After tasting this amazing honey we packed our bags and headed to Haute Provence to meet the producers.

During our visit we met both Jean, who runs the miellerie and Estelle his sister who helps keep things running smoothly. Since that first meeting, we've been bringing the Lo Brusc honeys into our store and each delivery is another opportunity to relive that visit.
• Chataigner (chestnut) honey

My first taste of chestnut honey from France was this past weekend when I received a gift of a jar of Chataigner honey. It was absolutely superb! This honey is not for the faint of palate, but if you like strongly flavored honey with a hint of umami & bitter, this is for you. For me, there was a lingering deliciousness of black locust blossom fragrance as well.
