Originally given to us as a gift by food-writer and author Corby Kummer, these humble cookies are made high in the Italian Alps in the charming town of Pamparato. Anna Tomatis is the third generation of her family to bake these simple, delicious cookies. They are not flashy, but they are incredibly delicious, with a crisp, crumbly texture. Packaged in an old-world style red box, Ihsan recalls eating these at a café in the Italian Piedmont. Up at 6am for a meeting with an old friend and cheesemonger, these biscuits were substantial enough to start the day and perfect with hot coffee.
