The Multi-seed Rye cracker is made using rye and wheat flours and an ingenious dose of cocoa powder to give it a darker brown color. Topped with sesame, caraway, and poppy seeds, this is a dramatic cracker that we find works perfectly with hummus or as an accompaniment to smoked salmon.

Whitney Lamy created her crackers using a recipe from the 1800's when Josiah Bent created a lighter and thinner version of Hardtack, a soldiers and seafarers staple.
Just as Bent did, Whitney rolls out sheets of dough, bakes them and hand "cracks" them.
