Alaea Red Sea Salt 16oz
We were given this as a gift by a friend returning from Hawaii, and fell in love with its taste of clean ocean waves. Its distinctive red color comes from the addition of alaea (baked Hawaiian red clay). This combination was discovered when runoff from the red clay soil ended up in the salt ponds and turned the water and ultimately the salt itself this beautiful reddish-orange color. The medium salt grains are perfect as a garnish when finishing your favorite dish. It has a great crunch and a mellow flavor.
