A Taste of Local Produce...
Spring is in full swing now and with the early rains and the current warmth, local gardens are producing beautiful crops! Every year we work with a variety of local farms including the Belmont CSA, Verrill Farm, Nesenkeag farm, Hutchins Farm, Ward's Berry Farm, Eva's Garden, Pio Angelini, Bay End Farm etc...
We bring in a small selection from each as the season builds so check in regularly to see what we've just received.
It's the end of strawberry season so pick up your last quart this weekend! Local raspberries are in from Pio Angelini. Also some amazing gooseberries from Ward's Berry farm - these are great on their own or cooked down with some stock, seived and finished with some butter to produce a sauce that adds a great brightness to grilled fish.
We're loving the local mesclun mix for our salads and we're eating them with a dash of organic olive oil, some sea salt a squeeze of lemon.
