Jacqueline Lane, based in London and Silvia Quaranta, based in Bolgheri produce and bottle La Bandiera extra virgin olive oil on their privately-owned estate in Bolgheri on the coast of Tuscany. La Bandiera is located near the medieval village of Bolgheri, surrounded by ancient olive groves dating back to the 10th century, and the home of the Super Tuscan wines including Ornellaia and Sassicaia. The region benefits from a unique climate, close proximity to the coast and a very rich landscape which makes this area a natural habitat for olive groves.

Over 800 olive trees are harvested and processed using traditional methods each year to produce this oil. The olive varieties used are moraiolo, leccino and frantoio when they are just beginning to ripen from mid-October through to November, in order to capture and preserve those characteristics so typical of olive oil from the region of Bolgheri – full-bodied with fruity and spicy aromas.

Each varietal is harvested and pressed separately. Following pressing, they taste and blend time and again to create their unique blend.
