These are organic small-batch handmade preserves made by Sylvie and Pascal Raunicher at La Ferme de Mazairas in the small town of St. Sylvestre in the region of Ardèche. Their tiny farm specializes in organic fruit, using unusual varieties with tons of fresh flavor. Their jams have less sugar and less pectin than other jams and as a
result their texture is more suited to being scooped with a spoon than
spread with a knife.
The classic strawberry preserve takes on a new dimension at the hands of these artisans - a beautiful rich strawberry flavor with an aroma that announces how good it will be. We love this in all of the classic ways - on buttered toast, scone or biscuit and blended into a fresh, plain yogurt.
