Steen's syrup has been made for over 85 years in the sugar cane fields of south Louisiana. The ripened sugar cane is harvested at its sweetest and is then ground and the juice is extracted. The sweet juice is cooked in open kettles until it has the desired color and consistency - then and only then can it be called Steen's 100% Cane Syrup.
We love this syrup as a glaze on our whole hams or pork chops as much as we love a drizzle over our oatmeal.
