Ras al Hanout is a spice blend that is native to Morocco where every spice vendor has their own (secret) recipe. Typically, the blend will include more than 20 different herbs and spices such as grains of paradise, lavender, turmeric, ajawan seeds, kalajeera, ginger, galangal, oris root, rose buds, monk's pepper, cinnamon and more.
The blend is essential in nearly every Moroccan tagine recipe, and it works particularly well with Chicken dishes. It also works well as a rub or as a finishing flavor for your favorite soup.
