Our classes program is pretty straightforward – you buy, you come, we teach, you eat and drink and you learn (and often have fun!). For those times when things aren’t so simple, here is a short list of frequently asked questions and our answers. For questions not covered here, the best way to get an answer is to email our classes coordinator.
Q: How long do classes typically run?
A: A typical class runs 1 ½ – 2 hours long.
Q: How much food will be served? Should I eat beforehand?
A: This will vary from class to class. Most classes will offer you small tastings, but some will fill you up with great food. In general, we recommend eating something light before our classes.
Q: I’m attending a guest chef cooking class. Will I be cooking?
A: All of our classes, including guest chef classes, are demonstration classes. These classes are not hands-on unless otherwise specified.
Q: What is the temperature like at the classroom annex?
A: Our classroom space also doubles as our warehouse. It is a very large area to heat and sometimes, when the temperatures dip well below freezing, it can be slightly chilly. In colder weather we recommend bringing a sweater or light jacket.
Q: These classes seem like the perfect idea for a party or office gathering. Do you offer custom tastings for a private group?
A: Yes we do! We offer private classes and events which can be held at our classroom location or at your home or office. Please email email our private events coordinator for more information.
Q: Do I need to print a ticket for the class?
A: You will need to provide your name at check-in, but no paper ticket is required.
Q: I’d like to buy a class as a gift. How do I do that?
A: If you have a particular class in mind, purchase the tickets on our website. A PDF of your guest’s tickets will be included in the confirmation email. If you would like them to pick the class, please email our classes coordinator and we can assist you with the gift option.
Q: I am trying to purchase 2 tickets on Eventbrite but it will only allow me to buy 1. Why?
A: We set a limit for the number of tickets we can sell for each class. If you only see one ticket available, it is because we only have 1 space left in that class. We recommend purchasing the final ticket and adding yourself to the waitlist. In most cases, we can release an additional ticket to you if you email our classes coordinator.
Q: I am on the waitlist. Will I get a spot?
A: We sometimes have cancellations which in turn free up a spot in the class. When this happens, we send out an email to each person on the wait list in the order their names were added to the list. If we don’t hear from you within 24 hours, we move on to the next name on the list.
Q: I am trying to reserve multiple spots on the waitlist. How do I do that?
A: Eventbrite only allows 1 person to be entered at a time on the waitlist. Please add yourself multiple times for the number of spots you would like. It is ideal to use the same name and email address so we know that you are a group.
Q: Can your classes accommodate allergy and/or dietary restrictions?
A: If you have an allergy or dietary restriction, please notify our classes coordinator with as much advance notice as possible. With enough advance notice, we can almost always accommodate restrictions. However, there are some cases where we cannot accommodate certain restrictions. In these cases, we may recommend an alternate class option.
Q: I have a Formaggio Kitchen gift card and I would like to buy a class. How do I do this?
A: Please email our classes coordinator. Please include your full name, the class you would like to sign up for and the number of seats. Additionally, please include the amount on your gift card and the gift card number (located on the back of the gift card). We will confirm within 48 hours.
Q: I cannot make it to my class but I’d like to keep a credit for a future class. What should I do?
A: Please email our classes coordinator at least 48 hours before the class. If you have a particular class in mind, we can transfer you right away (provided that there is space in the class). If you do not know which class you’d like to sign up for we can record your credit for a future class.
Q: I cannot make it to my class and it is less than 48 hours before it begins. Can I get a full refund?
A: If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know at least 48 hours before the class is scheduled to take place and we will give you a full refund or a credit for a future class. No refunds are offered for cancellations within 48 hours before an event. There are no refunds, transfers, make-ups or deferments for missed classes.
Q: I can’t attend my class, but my friend can go in my place. Is my ticket transferable?
A: Yes, tickets are transferable. Your friend can either check in using your name, or, you may email our classes coordinator to alert us of the change.
